What is the Clarivest Global Small Companies Fund (“Fund”)?
The Fund is an actively managed portfolio of global small companies with growth potential that is focused on capturing the return potential created as investors react inefficiently to shifts in a company’s growth cycle. The Fund aims to achieve returns in excess of the benchmark over the long-term.
Why invest in Global Small Companies?
Global small companies can offer investors access to innovative, fast-growing businesses across diverse international markets and industry sectors, which are often less accessible to investors in Australia.
What is the investment strategy of the Fund?
The approach of the Fund is premised on the belief that the interaction of market cycles with human psychology consistently cause investors to anchor to long term trends and therefore can underappreciate shorter term improving fundamentals. The investment manager believes that the resulting dislocation between company performance and stock price is both identifiable and exploitable and that a diversified portfolio of these “underappreciated growth” ideas – earning growth at a discount – can outperform the Benchmark.
What benchmark is the Fund measured against?
The Fund’s benchmark is the MSCI World Small Cap Index in AUD. This index tracks small-cap stocks across 23 developed market countries across more than 3,800 constituents.
Who is the investment manager?
ClariVest Asset Management LLC (“ClariVest”) is the investment manager of the Fund. ClariVest was founded in San Diego, California in 2006 and is responsible for selecting and managing the investments of the Fund.
